This is something that I have personally struggled with all of my adult life. It is also why America is in deep trouble. It seems that about every 40 or so years, we forget about the sacrifices that were made. The current news cycle does make that worse. The truth is often sacrificed at the altar of supremacy. With these last articles, you have shown what the issues are in our country. We have been bamboozled. We think we have truth and justice but we do not. Fear is still a big motivator and the Rethuglicans and Conservatives use it well, from misrepresenting the facts about Christianity to outright lying about the presidents and our “Founding Fathers “. We have short term memories and this is also used against us. One of the sad truths about the power of the press is Nazi Germany where the press turned a population against Jewish people. By now inventing race and assigning class to it, America has done the same thing. It just is a sad state of events and circumstances. I know what we should do, but we don’t have the courage to do so. By the way, I get my news from many sources and attempt to run the BS test on those sources. I wish we had better sources of news in the US. But it is all about profit.

Dear Mr. King, You are so right as usual. Imperfect as they may be, we watch the BBC America world news and learn much more than the US network world news gives us. After GW Bush declared, “Mission accomplished,” we watched the BBC and saw Americans and Iraqis alike dying and wounded in large numbers. Never on the networks though!
