There never has and never will be a time when a successful Black man isn’t targeted. The greater (especially financially) his success, the more rabid ‘they’ are with their attempts to take him down. This dynamic is part of a broader overarching, unwritten, yet shared mindset, amongst ‘them’ to harass Black men so much that it makes their life a living hell. Also send a message to other Black men that this is the hell we’ll put you through just for being Black and successful. Their jealousy of Black exceptionalism is the root of the problem. We must continue to be who we are and remain excellent in our endeavors without regard to their consequences. Those young Black men coming behind us must see us in that light. Thanks Shaun
